The green terminal looked right. I couldn't find where to type.

Once Alex had the Matrix look, I began removing the borders, logs and notifications that got in the way.

I wanted the office window for Alex to look like the green-on-black terminals in The Matrix. In late September, I started working seriously on it and asked Codex to look closely at that style.

Trying it on September 28, I found the colours were there, but borders remained in fullscreen and the input was hard to find. A status area on one side, a large log above, more hints below. The place where I needed to type had become surprisingly inconspicuous.

I went through the requests again: make the input obvious, enlarge the text, let me recall previous entries and give me hints for common commands. Clicking fullscreen should enter fullscreen. The design shouldn't assume every computer had an F11 key.

There were too many notifications as well. The conversation was already in the window; another line saying the message had been sent to Alex added little. A small notification that Alex had replied was enough. I could open the window to read the reply.

These changes were for the office end. The home end that received the tasks was kept as it was. I still wanted the terminal look, but I needed to find where to speak to it.
