Let the queue run. Let me move the urgent job.

Once several tools shared the local model, I wanted control over which job came next.

Transcription, translation and other text tasks shared the same computer. A queue soon became a practical need. Each window starting work independently left me guessing which one had the GPU.

On September 14, while discussing the model centre, I specifically asked for manual controls. I knew which task was urgent. A long document could wait until the evening; a short piece of text I needed immediately shouldn't wait just because it arrived later.

I asked to change the order, nominate the next job, cancel work and requeue it. If I interrupted something, I also needed to know what would happen to the work it had already done.

The queue gave the work an order. Being able to change that order made me willing to use it. Arrival time doesn't tell the computer which result I need first.
